Frenchies are adorable, but feeding them can be a project. That flat face means they sometimes struggle to pick up kibble, and they tend to gulp air while eating, which leads to gas and bloating. Smaller kibble or wet food can make mealtime easier.
The bigger issue is allergies. Frenchies are one of the most allergy-prone breeds out there. Chicken is a common trigger, and you'll see it as itchy skin, goopy ears, or obsessive paw licking. If that sounds familiar, a limited-ingredient food with a different protein source usually helps a lot.
They don't need much exercise, which means they gain weight easily. A Frenchie carrying extra pounds has an even harder time breathing, so keeping them lean is really worth the effort.
